The "Itami Nishidai Poster Exhibition" (hosted by the Itami Nishidai Shopping District Association, Rita Shopping District Association, and Itami City) is being held primarily at shops around Hankyu Itami Station in the Nishidai area of Hyogo Prefecture (until March 1, 2015). Under the catchphrase "Come see us, no purchase necessary," young creators from the Dentsu Group produced PR posters for each store to attract visitors to the area and highlight the shops' appeal. This initiative, aimed at regional revitalization, is the third of its kind following projects in Osaka's Shinsekai Market (2012) and Bunnosato Shopping Street (2013).
Approximately 180 posters are displayed throughout the Nishidai district. Maps are available at the Hankyu Itami Station Town Development Plaza, the JR Itami Station Tourism and Local Products Association, and the 36 participating shops. Activities like a stamp rally and a poster popularity contest (starting December 6) will further energize the event.
Nishidai suffered significant damage in the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. On January 17, 2015, marking 20 years since the disaster, an event titled the "Nishidai Revival Festival" will be held.
Masterpieces by young creators full of humor are displayed throughout the town. Collecting stamps from all participating stores in the stamp rally allows you to receive either the complete poster exhibition collection (booklet) or enjoy "special deals" or "fun services" at each store.
