Dentsu Inc. and its subsidiary Dentsu Tech are launching "Digitale," a new non-human talent development initiative leveraging digital technology.

Matsuko Deluxe, the model for the android
As the first project under "Digitale," "Matsukoroid," developed jointly with E-Lab and Natural Eight, is a life-sized android talent modeled after the celebrity Matsuko Deluxe, as its name suggests.
"Matsukoroid" was created under the supervision of Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro of Osaka University, a leading authority in android research. Professor Ishiguro develops androids aiming to create the ultimate communication medium humans can create.
"Matsukoroid" also strives to be a faithful android of Matsuko Deluxe herself. Her entire body, from head to toe, was molded, and her facial expressions, gestures, and mannerisms were studied and realistically reproduced, making her an android talent that truly applies cutting-edge android technology.
While technology utilization is advancing across diverse fields like video and music in the entertainment industry today, cases where artists or talents themselves are treated as content and utilized are still relatively rare. The concept of non-human talent launched this time emerged from this backdrop. The Dentsu Group believes demand for content development like android talent will likely increase going forward.
Dentsu Inc. established its 'Dentsu Robot Promotion Center' last month, and this 'Digitale' project is another initiative unique to the group, aimed at developing new communication content. Its defining feature is the development of new talent starting from various technologies.
Following its debut as an android talent, "Matsukoroid" will actively pursue multifaceted activities beyond TV appearances, including events and commercials.
