The "Joint Advertising Industry New Year's Party," co-hosted by 30 advertising-related organizations, was held on January 7th at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo in Chiyoda Ward, gathering approximately 1,650 attendees. First, representatives from the co-hosting organizations, including Chairman Akira Ohira of the All Japan Advertising Federation (AJAF), took the stage and performed the traditional sake barrel opening ceremony.
In his address, Chairman Ohira of Zenkyoren reflected on industries, technologies, and events that emerged in previous Years of the Sheep, stating: "The Year of the Sheep is a year when new industries, new sectors, and new technologies are born. This year, new commercial jet aircraft are scheduled to take flight, marking the dawn of a new aerospace industry. Furthermore, a new era of energy powered by hydrogen is beginning. In that sense, I believe this year will truly be an exciting one. As the advertising industry, we want to vigorously support these new companies and industries, as well as the various companies and industries striving for major transformation, using the power and energy of advertising, and thereby energize Japan." Viewing the New Year's gathering as the advertising industry's "deployment ceremony," following Chairman Ohira's rallying cry of "Let's go!", all attendees chanted "E-ei-o!" three times.
