Suntory BOSS New Campaign & New CM Announcement Event

Suntory Beverage & Food International announced on January 29th that, coinciding with the simultaneous renewal of five flagship products in its canned coffee "BOSS" series, it will launch a gift campaign titled "Pepper Comes to Stay with 100 People." Furthermore, following Pepper's appearance in the popular TV commercial series "Alien Jones," the company unveiled a new TV commercial on the same day at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo in Minato Ward.

Koichi Kitagawa, General Manager of Brand Strategy at Suntory Beverage & Food International's Food Business Division, commented on BOSS's strong performance, stating, "Since its launch in 1992, it has continued to grow for 22 years," and reported that in 2014, it became the top-selling canned coffee by sales value in supermarkets and other retail stores.

Following this, Tatsuro Kurisaka, General Manager of SoftBank Mobile's Marketing & Communications Division, also took the stage. He stated that to mark this collaboration, they would launch campaigns such as one where Pepper collaboration BOSS cans could be won.

The presentation featured Tamori, who appears in the "Premium BOSS" TV commercial, and Pepper. Freelance announcer Misa Takahashi served as host, leading a relaxed and friendly discussion.

Kinya Kitaoji, who co-stars in the new commercial, appeared via video and sent a message to Pepper.

When Pepper attempted to imitate Tamori's signature "Condor Landing" routine, Tamori remarked in surprise, "That's good! I didn't expect such graceful movements." He then gave a blunt assessment of Takahashi's attempt: "Pepper is better," drawing laughter from the audience.

Pepper is an emotion-recognizing personal robot sold by SoftBank Robotics. Its adorable movements and warm, conversational interactions are making it increasingly popular.

The 44th and 45th installments of the "Earth Survey Series" TV commercials, featuring Tommy Lee Jones as the alien Jones and Pepper, will begin airing on Tuesday, February 3rd.
