Osaka Siege 400th Anniversary Tenka Ichi Festival Held PR Warrior Group "Osaka RONIN 5" Promotes Event in Tokyo

The PR warrior group "Osaka RONIN 5" visited Tokyo to promote the "Osaka Siege 400th Anniversary Tenkaichi Festival: Summer Siege 2015," centered around Osaka Castle.

The "Osaka Siege 400th Anniversary Tenka Ichi Festival" is an event initiated last year by Osaka Prefecture, Osaka City, and local businesses. It aims to widely promote Osaka's history, culture, and urban charm cultivated over 400 years as a city of commerce and the people, marking the significant 400th anniversary of the Winter and Summer Sieges of Osaka in 2014 and 2015.

Following last year's "Winter Siege 2014," this year's "Summer Siege 2015" runs from April 1st to September 30th. Highlights include the Tenka-ichi Golden Japanese Boat, a traditional vessel covered in approximately 3,000 sheets of gold leaf, offering tours around Osaka Castle's moat. "Osaka Castle Gozabune" (April 15 - September 30), a haunted house themed around "Ghost Stories of Osaka Castle" (scheduled for July-August), and the "Summer Campaign: Osaka Castle Honmaru Takigi Noh" (September 20-23), where you can enjoy Noh plays beloved by Hideyoshi against the backdrop of the castle tower. These events let you enjoy and learn about the history and culture of Osaka Castle and the Osaka Campaign.

The five ronin who fought fiercely as the main force of the Toyotomi army in the final great battle of the Sengoku period, the Siege of Osaka: Sanada Yukimura, Mori Katsunaga, Chosokabe Morichika, Gotō Matabee, and Akashi Sōbu. Inoue Takuya, who plays the leader Sanada Yukimura, stated, "With so many new events happening during the Summer Campaign, we really hope people come to Osaka Castle to experience them and watch our performances. We'd be thrilled if we could spark an interest in history." Additionally, Nagai Reika, who plays Akashi Sōbu, said, "We have many new events this year, like the golden 'Osaka Castle Imperial Boat' for moat tours, and the 'Osaka Siege Battle Festival' featuring warrior processions and mock battles. Yoshimoto Takashi, who plays Gotō Matabee, added, "This year marks the 400th anniversary of the Summer Campaign of Osaka, the final great battle of the Warring States period that paved the way for an era of peace. "Osaka RONIN 5" performs sword dance performances, offers commemorative photos, and provides sightseeing guidance on the Honmaru Plaza Stage in front of Osaka Castle's main tower. They also appear at various events primarily within Osaka Prefecture, actively promoting the "Osaka Siege 400th Anniversary Tenkaichi Festival."
