Pet Manga #4: "Things You Stop Seeing When You Live with a Cat"

Dog owners and cat owners.

While both share common joys, there are unique experiences specific to each animal—experiences only possible because it's a dog, or only possible because it's a cat.

I have a dog, but while listening to cat owners talk, I thought, "That would never happen to a dog owner!" That became the theme for this manga.

That is, "how cats play."

When it comes to summer's biggest enemies, insects are at the top of the list.
Among them, cockroaches are a presence you can't ignore.
But if you have a cat, you might never encounter them...

Besides seeing fewer bugs around the house, another common experience for cat owners might be waking up to find a captured prey (like a bug) placed by your pillow (lol).

By the way, have you ever wondered why cats sometimes continue to play with their captured prey afterward?
Actually, there's a theory that this isn't play, but rather a state of "not knowing what to do with the captured prey."
Normally, the process of "catching prey and eating it" is something they learn from their mother cat. However, without such opportunities, only the instinct to catch prey remains. After catching something, they don't know what to do next, so they end up playing with it. Learning things like this helps you understand them more deeply and feel closer to them.

It made me realize again that one of the joys of pet ownership is experiencing things you could never have imagined before getting them.

What behaviors do your pets exhibit?
