Dentsu Inc. and Colopl Launch Location-Based Marketing Service "miraichi"

Dentsu Inc. and Colopl launched "miraichi," a new marketing service that visualizes people's movement patterns, starting May 20.
"miraichi" is a new service that analyzes people's real-world movements by combining location-based big data reports* created and sold by KDDI Corporation (hereinafter "KDDI") and Colopl with Dentsu Inc.'s marketing expertise.
Promoting "Future Analysis Unraveled from Location Data," this service clearly visualizes consumer movement patterns—which traditional questionnaire surveys relying on respondents' memory alone cannot fully capture—from angles tailored to client needs. It thus serves as a decision-making tool for a wide range of industries, including retail and distribution, as well as companies, organizations, and municipalities involved in urban development.
Specific features include the ability to track, over time, the origin regions, gender, and age groups of visitors to a target area, along with their movement patterns such as duration of stay and visit frequency. This enables not only trade area analysis and store location strategy formulation, but also efficient planning of sales promotions, assessment of customer loyalty (including competitors), and measurement of the effectiveness of various initiatives. Prior to launching this service, a proof-of-concept trial was conducted with a major retail company. The resulting customer behavior analysis achieved significant results, including clarifying differences in customer structure between new and existing stores and identifying challenges for driving store visits.
Moving forward, Dentsu Inc. and Colopl will offer "miraichi" to companies involved in retail, tourism, theme park operations, and urban development.
*The information provided to Dentsu Inc. consists of statistical reports generated by "Location Trends," provided by KDDI and Colopl. It does not include subscriber information held by KDDI or big data from smartphone location information. Furthermore, Dentsu Inc. will not identify or re-identify individuals from these reports.
