Haneda Airport Terminal 60th Anniversary Exhibition: Hosting Japan's Largest Airport Photo Exhibition

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Haneda Airport Passenger Terminal Building's opening, Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd. is holding one of Japan's largest airport photo exhibitions in the departure lobbies of Terminals 1 and 2 starting May 20.

The exhibition showcases the evolution of Haneda Airport Passenger Terminal Building over its 60-year history since opening in 1955. Utilizing the height and spaciousness of the departure lobbies and surrounding escalators, it presents a sense of scale highlighting the facility's dimensions. Admission is free.

From the opening to the present day, this exhibition looks back at the people who worked tirelessly to build an airport terminal and get planes flying at Haneda in the immediate postwar period, along with the many challenges they faced, through a total of 498 photographs. This limited-time special event features a curated selection of over 30,000 photographs, including previously unpublished images held by Japan Airport Building and others, capturing the fading memories of Haneda Airport's past. The total exhibition area of 2,165.54 square meters is equivalent to approximately four jumbo jet wings (541 square meters each).
