Dentsu Inc. has acquired broadcasting rights for the Olympic Games from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to further actively promote its sports marketing business, a key strength of the company.
This acquisition adds to the broadcast rights for the 2014 and 2016 Games in 22 Asian countries and regions* secured in 2013, granting new rights for the 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024 Games in the same region.
Specifically, this includes the broadcast rights for the 23rd Olympic Winter Games (2018 / PyeongChang, South Korea), the 32nd Olympic Games (2020 / Tokyo, Japan), the 24th Olympic Winter Games (2022 / Host City TBD), and the 33rd Olympic Games (2024 / Host City TBD). These rights cover all media, including television, radio, and the internet, across the 22 Asian countries and regions.
Broadcasting rights for the Youth Olympic Games held during the above period are also included in the acquired rights.
