Over 300 athletes from across Japan participated, competing in track events, jumping events, and throwing events.
The event also featured Japanese athletes who will compete at the 2015 IPC World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar, starting October 22, 2015. It serves as one of the selection trials for the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.
To ensure fair competition, athletes are categorized into classes based on the type and degree of their disabilities. Additionally, specialized equipment is permitted, including prosthetic arms and legs, and racing wheelchairs designed for competition. For visually impaired athletes, guide runners provide direction, while callers give instructions on takeoff positions and throwing directions in jumping and throwing events.
The unique combination of athlete and support team, not seen in able-bodied sports, is another highlight.
