This year's commercial broadcasters' convention returns to Osaka for the first time in 10 years! The production style is Osaka-style!

The National Association of Commercial Broadcasters in Japan (NACB) held its 63rd National Commercial Broadcasting Convention at the Osaka International Convention Center in Kita Ward, Osaka City, on November 10.
Approximately 1,000 attendees, including private broadcast executives, guests, and invitees, participated in the conference ceremony, commemorative lecture, two symposia on television and radio, and planned exhibitions.
At the opening ceremony, Chairman Hiroshi Inoue (Chairman of TBS Television) delivered a speech. He began by expressing sympathy for the victims of the successive natural disasters and spoke about the importance of information provision as a commercial broadcaster.
He then outlined the following six challenges facing the media industry today:
① Time-shifted viewing
② Online streaming services
③ 4K/8K broadcasting
④ Illegal streaming
⑤ Relationship with NHK
⑥ Radio's Business Environment
Furthermore, he touched on the relationship between politics and media, concluding, "The environment surrounding broadcasting is becoming increasingly challenging. Television and radio remain the most powerful media, but unless we manage our operations with sincere commitment to the current situation, it will be too late when we finally realize it."

A video message from Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and a message from Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Sanae Takaichi were read by Vice Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Shinpei Matsushita. NHK Chairman Katsuhito Momi delivered congratulatory remarks.
Norio Mochizuki, Chairman of the Private Broadcasters' Association (President of Yomiuri Television Broadcasting), took the stage and read the conference declaration: "Private radio and television broadcasting has served as the most accessible and trusted media, meeting the diverse needs of viewers and listeners and delivering essential information. Even in a society where new technologies and information services continue to emerge, the role and responsibility of private broadcasting will remain unchanged. We pledge to uphold freedom of speech and expression and to redouble our efforts to realize a safe and secure life."
