LIXIL Selected as Tokyo 2020 Gold Partner

LIXIL, a major manufacturer of housing equipment and building materials, announced on November 26 that it has signed a Tokyo 2020 sponsorship agreement with the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, securing its position as a Gold Partner, the highest domestic sponsorship tier. The agreement covers the category of "Housing Equipment Components and Plumbing Fixtures," making LIXIL the 15th Gold Partner.

President Yoshiaki Fujimori stated, "Guided by our corporate philosophy of 'contributing to the future of rich and comfortable living for people worldwide,' we have broadly supported sports. The passion and excitement generated by sports—those 'moments'—resonate with the joyful 'moments' experienced through our products and services, embodied in our slogan 'Feel the Moment.' We aim to contribute to the Games' success through LIXIL's innovation and technology."

Organizing Committee Chairman Yoshiro Mori remarked, "I feel a special connection announcing this contract with LIXIL, a company that has supported and enriched people's living environments, on November 26th, which is 'Good Bath Day'. I expect this partnership will provide a more comfortable living environment for athletes and officials participating in the Tokyo Games, as well as for everyone in Japan."

Following the signing ceremony, professional tennis player Kei Nishikori, who has a global partnership agreement with LIXIL, took the stage for a talk show with President Fujimori.

Kei Nishikori revealed he had renovated his home in the United States using LIXIL products, smiling as he shared how the comfortable space allows him to relax both physically and mentally. President Fujimori responded, "If our products contribute even a little to Mr. Nishikori's victories, I would be deeply moved." He also noted that the 2020 Games present an opportunity for many visitors to Japan to experience high-quality Japanese products.

Regarding the beauty of sports, Nishikori stated, "Even without a common language, people can feel the emotion and courage." He shared an experience where many people overseas approached him to discuss the Japanese national team's performance at the Rugby World Cup. President Fujimori commented, "The drama that unfolds in the pursuit of the pinnacle, and the emotion found in each individual moment." Regarding the Rio Olympics, Nishikori said "I believe I'm in a position to aim for a medal. I want to wait for the opening without neglecting my preparation." Regarding the Tokyo Games, he stated, "I'll be 30 then, and I think my physical strength and experience will be just right. I'm also looking forward to the excitement in Japan." President Fujimori expressed his aspiration: "By 2020, I want to achieve our vision of becoming the world's most valuable, innovative, and trusted technology company."
