"Attack on Titan Exhibition" Opens in Taiwan! Haruma Miura Promotes It Locally

The manga "Attack on Titan," with cumulative sales exceeding 50 million copies, has sparked a major boom both domestically and internationally. The "Attack on Titan Exhibition," offering an immersive experience of the series' world, drew a cumulative 400,000 visitors during its runs in Tokyo, Oita, and Osaka from last year through this year. Building on its popularity in Asia, the exhibition has now made its first overseas debut. "Attack on Titan Exhibition WALL TAIPEI" is being held at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei, Taiwan, from December 11th (until February 29, 2016. Organized by: Amus Entertainment, "Attack on Titan Exhibition" Taipei Executive Committee).
Actor Haruma Miura, who starred in the live-action movie released this summer, attended the opening event.

The "Matsuyama Cultural and Creative Park" is an area redeveloped from a former tobacco factory site, with Warehouse No. 1 serving as the venue.
The exhibition faithfully recreates the content from Japan. Taiwan-exclusive displays include a message from original creator Hajime Isayama to Taiwanese fans and autographs from Haruma Miura, who visited the venue. Additionally, a separate building features "Howl," an experience using head-mounted displays to immerse visitors in the original world with 360-degree views, delighting local fans.

Visitors expressed their excitement, saying things like, "It's rare to see original artwork in Taiwan, so this is great," and "The Taiwanese edition of the FUN BOOK in the merchandise corner looks interesting. I definitely want to buy it."

Additionally, at the Pacific SOGO department store in Taipei, life-size mannequins of the Colossal Titan's face and Survey Corps members have been placed to enhance the exhibition.

We spoke with Keigo Hayashi of Dentsu Inc. Publishing Bureau, who has been involved with the Giant Exhibition since its first iteration, and Aimi Chiga of Media Palette Taiwan, who supported the local production committee.
