Nissin Foods Holdings announced on June 23rd that it has signed a Tokyo 2020 sponsorship agreement with the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, becoming an Official Partner of the Tokyo Games.
The contract covers the categories "cup noodles, bagged noodles, chilled noodles, and frozen noodles," with the contract period running from May 31, 2016, to December 31, 2020.
President Hiroki Ando commented, "As the industry pioneer that launched the world's first instant ramen, Chicken Ramen, and guided by our founder's belief that 'food and sports are the two wheels supporting health,' we have supported the Japanese Olympic Team as an Official Partner of the Japanese Olympic Committee. Through this agreement, we aim to contribute to the success of the Tokyo Games via our products."
Organizing Committee Chairman Yoshiro Mori stated, "Since launching the world's first instant ramen in 1958, the company has continued innovative product development. As an Organizing Committee aiming for the most innovative Games in history, bringing positive change to the world, we are extremely pleased to have gained such an ideal partner."
