The website for the "Osaka Certification Poster Exhibition" ( http://www.osaka-kentei.jp/poster/ ) launched on August 29. The "Osaka Certification Poster Exhibition" is being held by the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Unique posters featuring Osaka Certification questions related to each station are displayed at 76 Osaka Municipal Subway stations and 19 JR West Osaka Loop Line stations, totaling 95 stations. The exhibition runs until October 5th, with the keyword "Knowing Osaka makes Osaka even more interesting."
The posters were created by Dentsu Design Ninja, part of Dentsu Inc.'s Kansai branch, which has handled "Shopping District Poster Exhibitions" like the "Fuminosato Shopping District Poster Exhibition."
We asked Keita Kusaka of Dentsu Inc. Kansai Branch, the mastermind behind the Shopping District Poster Exhibitions, about the key points of this 'Osaka Quiz Poster Exhibition.'
"For about 1,370 years since Naniwa Palace was built in 645, Osaka has been a continuously active city. Even when the capital moved to Nara, Kyoto, or Tokyo, Osaka remained Japan's leading city. Looking worldwide, there aren't many cities that have stayed vibrant for over a thousand years. We infused the poster with Osaka's history and energy. The output is designed to be distinctly Osaka—foolish and over-the-top—but the content is quite serious. We hope Osaka residents who see the posters will discover the city's hidden value and take pride in it. For those outside Osaka, we want them to see its appeal beyond just comedy and takoyaki. Please take the Osaka Certification Test. That's our request from an Osaka native." (Keita Kusaka)
