The 43rd Tokyo Motor Show 2013 (organized by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, open to the public November 23 to December 1) opened to the press on November 20. Its theme is "Compete for a Future the World Has Never Seen." Participating were 177 companies and organizations representing 180 brands from 12 countries worldwide, showcasing passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, carrozzeria (body manufacturers), vehicle-related products, and automotive services. Among the exhibits, 76 vehicles (including automobiles and motorcycles) were world premieres, and 81 were Japanese premieres. Fourteen domestic automakers exhibited 15 brands.

Additionally, the organizer's initiative "SMART MOBILITY CITY 2013" will be held concurrently. Under the theme "KURUMA NETWORKING... Cars Connecting to Life and Society," companies and organizations involved in information and communications, environment, and energy will participate, introducing cutting-edge products, technologies, and systems.
