Kikkoman Foods held a commercial presentation for its "Always Fresh, Freshly Pressed Raw Soy Sauce" at Bellesalle Onarimon Ekimae in Minato Ward, Tokyo, on February 21.
Executive Officer and Product Manager Yasumasa Tajima opened by noting the "Always Fresh" series began in September 2010. He stated, "We expanded the lineup to meet customer needs and now offer 12 varieties. Sales have reached 10 billion yen. This success reflects recognition of innovation in both the soy sauce itself and its packaging."
Actress Haruka Ayase, the new advertising character appearing in TV commercials airing from February 22nd—including the "Haruka's First Experience: Hand-Rolled Sushi—I Got It Wrong" and "Same Steak" editions—took the stage. Ayase expressed her surprise at tasting fresh soy sauce for the first time with a cute smile.
Regarding the commercial, Ayase shared an anecdote with a beaming smile: during the scene where she expresses deliciousness with "Mmm~!" she found the hand-rolled sushi so tasty that she kept eating even after the cut signal, surprising the staff. Ayase, who uses "Freshly Squeezed Raw Soy Sauce" in her daily life, commented on her favorite points: "Unlike regular soy sauce, it's clear and vibrant in color. It makes anything you put it on taste delicious, and it's convenient because you can use just one drop by squeezing the bottle."
Ayase took on a live cooking demonstration of hand-rolled sushi, a menu item that pairs well with fresh soy sauce. She placed colorful ingredients like sashimi and avocado on nori and vinegared rice, rolled it up with a "Yooosh!" shout, drizzled several drops of "Fresh-Squeezed Soy Sauce" directly from the bottle, and without hesitation, opened her mouth wide and took a big bite. She showcased the deliciousness with that signature, outstanding expression seen in the commercial. During the preparation of a Japanese-style steak, she assisted with seasoning and plating. Biting into the steak cooked to her preferred medium doneness, she offered a food-review-style comment: "Mmm, delicious! It's simple, but the savory aroma of the raw soy sauce pairs perfectly with the meat. It's refreshingly light."
