The 43rd Tokyo Motor Show (until December 1, Tokyo Big Sight) featured the concurrently held "SMART MOBILITY CITY 2013" as an organizer-led theme project. NTT DOCOMO exhibited a booth introducing "docomo Drive Net Info," a car life support service jointly developed with Pioneer and scheduled for launch in mid-December.

The two companies have also collaborated on the existing car navigation service "Docomo Drive Net," with this Drive Net Info being its evolved version. It accumulates vehicle and driver information on the Docomo ITS Cloud to provide traffic congestion and surrounding area information. Additionally, drivers can simply speak to their smartphone to make calls, play music, send and receive SNS messages, and have the latest news read aloud.

At a press briefing on November 21, Hisanobu Dobashi, General Manager of the ITS Business Promotion Division in the M2M Business Department, explained, "This app started with the idea of how to best use smartphones in cars, and from there, we connected it with the 'Talking Concierge' and Drive Net Navi functions." Going forward, NTT DOCOMO aims to expand the use of its ITS Cloud into the aftermarket, including automotive maintenance services, CRM for car accessory sales, and the advancement of auto insurance.
