Dentsu Inc. Develops "Wonderport," a Service Utilizing Talking Characters

Dentsu Inc., in collaboration with digital content production companies STARRYWORKS and Face Creates, has developed a prototype for "Wonderport," a service that uses talking characters to facilitate communication.

Wonderport is a service mechanism that displays characters on devices like smartphones and enables remote operation of these characters to facilitate communication between companies and consumers, or among consumers themselves. Utilizing communication/call technology and voice conversion technology, the character's mouth moves in sync with the original voice.

The characters are intended to be corporate-owned or feature celebrities/characters in collaboration with rights-holding companies. The service aims to create new communication experiences by serving as a communicator connecting companies with consumers and consumers with each other.

Dentsu Inc. envisions Wonderport being used in communication apps by internet phone service providers, for screen projections at outdoor events, and in e-commerce shops and call centers.
