The 2nd Annual "Small and Medium Enterprise Company Song Contest" is now open!
The steering committee forthe small and medium-sized enterprise website " HANJO HANJO " announcedon July 18th that it will holdthe second "Small and Medium Enterprise Company Song Contest" (in cooperation with Masazumi Yumikari , sponsored by Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun and the All Japan Manufacturing Spinning Top Association)via video on the website .
The site serves as an information platform for Japanese SMEs to discover new ways to generate revenue. Since its launch in July 2015, it has shared industry insights, trends, regional business models, and new business schemes through cross-industry collaboration to provide growth hints for SMEs.
The contest aims to contribute to revitalizing SMEs by promoting "internal communication" and "PR activities" through the use of company anthem videos.
The first contest, held in November 2016, received entries from 29 companies and garnered approximately 24,000 total votes. Participating companies reported positive outcomes, including increased sales and improved recruitment effectiveness.
The contest seeks company song videos filled with corporate spirit to determine Japan's best. "Company songs" need not be official; unofficial theme songs or cheering songs conveying a company's appeal or employee sentiments are also eligible.
Submitted videos are published on a special website for public voting by site visitors. Awards include the "HANJO HANJO Award" for the most votes and "Judges' Awards" selected by experts in various fields.
Singer-songwriter Ai Kawashima has been appointed as the contest's cheerleader. Kawashima shared a message: "In the first contest, I felt the charm of company songs and was deeply moved by the corporate philosophies and cultures everyone cherishes. I look forward to encountering many more company songs this time."
