The Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) announced the launch of its support event "Ignite the Winter. Deliver Courage! 2018," praying for the success of the Japanese delegation competing in the "23rd Olympic Winter Games," and began accepting applications from the general public starting November 1st.
The PyeongChang Games will be held from February 9 to 25, 2018, primarily in PyeongChang County, South Korea.
The event will be held on January 24, 2018, at the Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo. Alongside the national team athletes, cheer squad leader Shuzo Matsuoka, artist AI, and Olympian Takahiko Kozuka will appear, with freelance announcer Rio Hirai serving as MC.
From Rio to Pyeongchang, and then to Tokyo. The JOC aims to energize the send-off event by collaborating with children, sharing the excitement and pure support with athletes and participants alike. It particularly seeks to be a place where children can deepen their interest and enthusiasm for the Olympics.
The event will feature a relay message from children, a live performance by AI, and a statement of determination from the team captain.
Capacity is 400 people (free admission). Those wishing to attend can apply via the web or postcard (postmarked by December 8).
Let's bring passionate support to this cold winter!
