Photo agency Afro will hold the photojournalism exhibition "Koji Aoki: The World of Winter Olympic Coverage - From 1984 Sarajevo to 2014 Sochi" at Canon Gallery S in Minato Ward, Tokyo, from November 30 to February 3 next year. Admission is free.
This exhibition gathers "Winter Olympic photographs" by photographer and Afro representative Koji Aoki, who has photographed a total of 17 Summer and Winter Olympics.
Aoki began his career as a professional photographer in 1976 and continues to work on location while serving as Afro's representative. His photographs convey not only the facts of sports reporting but also the athletes' emotions and the audience's excitement. The trajectory of the Winter Olympics he has captured for over a quarter-century connects to the PyeongChang Olympics to be held next February.
Additionally, a lecture by Mr. Aoki titled "The Olympics, Photography, and Me" is scheduled for December 16th at the same venue. Admission is free, with a capacity of 300 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Apply for the lecture here.
