JXTG Energy, a Tokyo 2020 Gold Partner, began airing its new TV commercial "ENEOS Energy Song Relay" on December 14.
This is a sequel to the commercial series themed around the company's activity concept "ENERGY for ALL," featuring track and field athletes Asuka Cambridge, Yoshihide Kiryu, and Seika Murakami, along with actress Yoko Yoshida.
The previous installment, "Energy Song Announcement," aired starting July 24, three years before the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. In that commercial, Dreams Come True performed their song "That Day Will Surely Come -SINGLE VERSION-" for the first time in a packed stadium.
Set in Tokyo, this new commercial depicts the cast members sprinting through the city while passing the baton of energy.
The image character, Enegori-kun, runs toward the stadium. The baton passes from second runner Kiryu to Paralympic athletes Murakami and Cambridge. Next, Yoshida, who had been providing live commentary as the caster, appears as the following runner. Finally, they reach the finish line at an ENEOS service station.
The footage of them racing through an unlikely course—office districts, in front of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, and downtown shopping streets—amid cheering crowds along the route feels fresh.
The three athletes, who were familiar with the previous commercial, seemed to be looking forward to appearing in this one. After filming, they expressed their joy while also showing their determination to win medals at the Tokyo Games.
