Haruka Ayase's "Getz!" pose is trending! Monday's Giant Cone for a happy charge!

Ezaki Glico held a PR event for its long-selling Glico ice cream "Giant Cone" at Bellesalle Onarimon Ekimae in Minato Ward, Tokyo, on April 2nd. Starting the same day, TV commercials themed "Monday: Happy Charge with Giant Cone!" will air nationwide sequentially: the "Happy Charge: Men" edition, "Happy Charge: Women" edition, "Four-in-One" edition, and "Adult Chocolate" edition.

According to the company's survey results, Monday was overwhelmingly cited as the most depressing day of the week. It also revealed that many people eat sweets to lift their spirits on gloomy days.

The campaign aims to help people start their week happily by eating Giant Cone on Mondays, when the post-holiday blues often set in.

The commercials feature actress Haruka Ayase, the product's image character, in a unique collaboration. She combines the most depressing day of the week, "Monday," with comedian Dandy Sakano's one-liner gag "Gets!"

Highlights include a charming scene where Ayase enthusiastically calls out her own version of "Getz!", the jingle singing "Giant Cone for a Happy Charge!", and blissful eating scenes.

Ayase and Dandy Sakano made an appearance at the venue. Ayase commented with a beaming smile, "On gloomy Mondays, it's good to be a little kinder to yourself. Let's do our best together!", putting everyone at ease.

Ayase happily shared that during the commercial shoot, Dandy personally demonstrated the "Get!" pose for her. He imparted his well-honed techniques, such as being mindful not to let hands overlap the face, keeping the index finger slightly outward instead of straight ahead, and imagining the voice coming from the back of the head. "His masterful technique was truly impressive," she marveled.

As it was also the first day of the new fiscal year, when asked for a message to new working adults, Dandy-san cheered them on: "Charge up with happiness and do your best on 'Get It! Days' too." Ayase-san concluded, "I know you'll feel tired or anxious some days, but find your own joys, take breaks, and be happy like Dandy-san."

The product's official Twitter account (@glico_giant) shares various tweets every Monday with the theme "Make Mondays Happy!" Every week, 10 followers who retweet the designated tweet will be randomly selected to receive a "Happy Charge BOX" containing a week's supply (7 pieces) of Giant Corn.
