Panasonic Collaborating with Perfume Hosts "AWA DANCE CONTEST"
Panasonic announced on June 15th that it will hold the "AWA DANCE CONTEST" in collaboration with the techno-pop unit Perfume as a promotion for its vertical washing machine equipped with the "Warm Water Bubble Wash W" feature.
This contest will be held jointly with the finals of the 4th "Perfume Dance Contest ~Dance! TOKYO GIRL~" (organized by Amuse), scheduled for August 25th.
The "Perfume Dance Contest," conceived by Perfume members, has been held irregularly since 2011, featuring Perfume songs as challenges. Groups passing the video screening perform at the finals venue, where Perfume and other judges decide the grand prize winner on the spot.
Panasonic, with the sentiment "Make everyday laundry happy," released a new smartphone-optimized music video (MV) titled "Everyday" -AWA DANCE ver.2.0- (vertical screen) on June 1st, featuring the "Warm Water Bubble Wash" function of its vertical washing machines. It has garnered significant attention, surpassing 8 million views within its first week of release.
Panasonic's "AWA DANCE CONTEST" will use this new MV as the theme song. To encourage more people to enjoy dancing, it will be held jointly with the finals of the "Perfume Dance Contest".
Entries are accepted in three categories: "Children/Parent-Child," "Couples," and "Friends/Work Colleagues."
Entries will be judged on how well they express the "warmth" of warm water bubble washing, the "power" to remove stains, and the "joy" of making laundry happy through dance. One representative group from each category will advance to the finals to compete for the Grand Prize. The Grand Prize winner will receive one washing machine from the company.
Contest applications are accepted until July 20.
Submitted videos will undergo primary and secondary screening, with the finals held in Tokyo on August 25.
