Regarding the Merger of DENTSU DIRECT INC. and DENTSU DIRECT SOLUTIONS

Dentsu Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toshihiro Yamamoto) has decided to merge its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Dentsu Direct Marketing Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Masahito Sato; hereinafter "DDM") and Dentsu Direct Solutions Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoko Yoshii; hereinafter "DDS") on August 1, 2018 (planned).
DDM was established in June 2007 as DENTSU DIRECT INC. in its own right, and in April this year, it changed its name to Dentsu Direct Marketing Inc. to serve as the core company consolidating the Dentsu Group Inc.'s direct marketing resources. DDS was founded in March 1985 as DENTSU Wunderman Inc., a direct marketing agency established as a joint venture between Dentsu Inc. and the U.S.-based Y&R. It has developed businesses in areas such as CRM. On April 30 of this year, the joint venture with Y&R was dissolved, and DDS is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dentsu Inc.
This merger will further strengthen the business foundation in the direct marketing field. DDM, the surviving company, will actively expand its business to become the leading company in this field.
