Entries are now being accepted (until May 10) for Japan's largest school-versus-school eSports high school tournament, "Coca-Cola STAGE:0 eSPORTS High-School Championship 2019" (Organizer: Executive Committee [TV Tokyo, Dentsu Inc.]; Supporters: Japan e-Sports Federation, Online Game & eSports Parliamentary League, Nikkei Inc. Top Sponsor = Japan Coca-Cola Gold Sponsor = Indeed Japan, Rohto Pharmaceutical) has begun accepting entries (until May 10).
The tournament features teams of three current high school students from the same school competing in eSports.
Its catchphrase is "You still don't know your true brain power."
Recognizing esports as a brain sport, the event aims to discover talented Japanese high school students, cultivate talent capable of excelling on the global stage, and promote the development of competitive esports in Japan, where its popularity lags behind other countries.

At the entry acceptance launch event held at TV Tokyo headquarters on March 28,
with tournament ambassador Takashi Tanaka (Angels) in attendance.
Starting in May, online block preliminaries will begin. Following offline block representative selection matches, the finals will be held on both August 14th and 15th at the Maihama Amphitheater in Chiba Prefecture.
Competition will be held across three titles: "Clash Royale" (Supercell), "Fortnite" (Epic Games), and "League of Legends" (Riot Games). All are globally popular games also used in international competitions.
The winning team will receive luxurious prizes, including invitations to international tournaments overseas.
Media partners (Hokkaido Shimbun/TV Hokkaido, Kahoku Shimpo (planned)/Tohoku Broadcasting, Chunichi Shimbun/TV Aichi, Sankei Shimbun/TV Osaka, Chugoku Shimbun/Chugoku Broadcasting, Nishinippon Shimbun/TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting) will each host the regional representative selection matches for their respective blocks, dividing the nation into seven regions.
TV Tokyo, the organizer, will broadcast the tournament, which runs for three months starting in May, as a special program on its network.
