On the same day, a launch event was held at Tokyo Midtown in Minato Ward, welcoming comedian Naomi Watanabe and BMX cyclist Rimu Nakamura as guests.

Watanabe appeared in a full-body outfit showcasing her enthusiasm, incorporating the five Olympic colors into her clothing and hair, and adorning her head with the Games mascot Miraitowa. "The Games are already next year! With ticket applications starting, I'm getting even more excited," she said with an excited look.
Watanabe also served as the anchor for the "Connecting Together for TOKYO 2020" project on the website ( https://tokyo2020.org/jp/special/2020id/baton/ ). This initiative features Olympians, athletes, and comedians relaying their thoughts about the Games until ticket sales open.
Athlete Nakamura made a dramatic entrance on stage performing tricks on his BMX competition bike, thrilling the audience. Nakamura won Japan's first-ever silver medal in BMX Freestyle Park at the 2019 World Cup and is expected to represent Japan at the Tokyo Olympics. Regarding BMX becoming an additional event, he said, "It ignited my fighting spirit. I hope my performance will raise the profile of the sport."

The two discussed the Tokyo Games and spectating. Watanabe remarked, "The Olympics are a major event that ignites passion worldwide, for both athletes and spectators. I definitely want to cheer at the venues." Nakamura responded, "Spectator cheers greatly impact an athlete's motivation."
When asked about events they want to watch, Watanabe said, "Of course, volleyball, which I captained in middle school, but I'm also curious about new sports like karate and surfing." Nakamura added, "I'd like to see skateboarding, since we sometimes train together."

Watanabe experienced the application process using a demo site.
After selecting "BMX Finals" as her desired event, she entered seat type and quantity. She completed the input while receiving explanations about services like the "cascade" system—where if your preferred seat type is unavailable, lower-tier seats become eligible for the lottery—and the option to select a different session as a second choice.
Watanabe concluded, "It's easy to understand and simple. Everyone, let's come watch and cheer on the athletes!" Athlete Nakamura added, "At our home Olympics, I really want to win a medal."

The ticket application period runs until May 28, with lottery results announced on June 20. While the ticket site experienced heavy traffic from day one, the organizing committee emphasized, "The order of applications does not affect the lottery results. Please plan your purchase carefully before applying."
