Google LLC signed a sponsorship agreement with the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee on June 26, becoming an Official Supporter of Tokyo 2020.
The contract category is "Information and Navigation Services on the Internet (Web/App or Internet search engine systems and services, Internet-based navigation and map services, virtual or intelligent personal assistant systems and services, Internet-based translation systems and services, online local business information services)."
Peter Fitzgerald, Managing Director of Google Japan, commented: "This marks our first participation as an Official Supporter of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is particularly meaningful that this milestone takes place in Tokyo, where Google first established its overseas office. We aim to contribute through our various services so that everyone can share in the excitement of the Games."
Yoshiro Mori, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, commented, "Beyond its search service, the company offers diverse services like maps and translation. We expect its support will further energize this global gathering."
