[Message from Director Nagaku]
—August 31st: The World's Most Depressing Day!
The protagonists of the film We Are Little Zombies are 13-year-old middle schoolers.
They've lost their parents and must embark on an adventure whether they like it or not... and then... that's the story.
I made this film for middle and high school students struggling now, and for my younger self who struggled back then.
If you're a middle schooler and struggling with something, I hope you'll give this movie a try.
I hope it might give you something, even if it's just a little—like the thought that it's okay to stay just as you are right now.
August 31st, the last day of summer vacation.
On this seemingly hopeless day, I pray you won't despair.
To you at thirteen. To you who once was thirteen.
Director: Masayoshi Nagahisa
~Regarding the August 31st Limited Free Online Release of 'We Are Little Zombies'~
PS
We felt compelled to reach as many people as possible right now,
which is why we decided to proceed with this limited-time online release.
It's unusual for a film still showing in theaters to be available online,
and I am truly grateful to everyone involved for understanding my wish.
I'd like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude.
(So! If you watch it online and like it, please do try to see it in theaters too!)
