Caret Illumination 2019 ~Arabian Nights~ Begins (Video Available)

The annual winter illumination event at Caretta Shiodome (Minato-ku, Tokyo) commenced at Caretta Plaza on November 14 (running until February 14, 2020).
As one of Tokyo's premier illumination spots, it attracts approximately 500,000 visitors annually, captivating them with its fantastical illumination show.

This year marks the 14th edition. To commemorate the release of the MovieNEX edition of the hit Disney film "Aladdin," which surpassed ¥12 billion in domestic box office revenue, the illumination event "Caretta Illumination 2019 ~Arabian Nights~" was held, inspired by the film's world.

On the 13th, a lighting ceremony was held with guest Haruka Kinoshita, the Japanese voice actress for Jasmine.
After counting down to the lighting with children dressed in costumes inspired by the world of Aladdin, Kinoshita performed a special live rendition of songs from the film, enveloped in the glow of the illuminations.

Her powerful and beautiful voice filled the air as she sang "A Whole New World" and "Speechless ~ The Voice of the Heart." The sparkling lights of the illumination moved in sync with the music, creating a fantastical atmosphere.
Kinoshita, who specially performed the duet song "Speechless ~ Song of the Heart" as a solo, expressed her excitement: "Jasmine is a strong woman and an aspirational figure. I'm thrilled to have sung amidst scenery that Jasmine might have seen too."

The venue was adorned in enchanting Arabian Nights colors, evoking the world of "Aladdin," while maintaining the signature blue symbolizing Caret Illumination. The main tree at the venue's center featured the "Magic Lamp." The illumination show, performed every 15 minutes, showcased two beloved programs: the timeless classics "A Whole New World" and "Speechless ~ The Voice of the Heart," cherished by fans of all ages. Additionally, once per hour, a special illumination show called "Magic Lamp Illumination" (performed from November 29th, times random) took place, casting the lamp's magic over the Caret Illumination. The "Magic Lamp Illumination" will feature song programs from the Disney/Pixar film "Toy Story 4" and the Disney film "The Lion King."

During the event period, Caretta Shiodome will feature the "Caretta Illumination 2019 ~Magic Cave~" photo location, immersing visitors in the world of "Aladdin." The 46th floor, located 200 meters above ground, will showcase the "Magic Carpet Wall" and "Magic Lamp," while the 1st floor Canyon Terrace will display the Magic Carpet. A stamp rally will also be held, inviting visitors to collect stamps at each photo location.
