CAROSET, an app service enabling private car owners to temporarily exchange their vehicles, launched on December 10th. A launch event was held the same day at Dentsu Inc. Hall in Minato Ward, Tokyo.

This service was developed as the first offering from "CAROSET," a wholly-owned subsidiary established by Dentsu Inc. in October 2018 to develop and provide CtoC services.
"CAROSET" addresses the latent needs and challenges of car owners as a novel sharing model called "shared-use sharing," where no monetary exchange occurs between users. For a monthly basic fee of ¥780 (excluding tax; free until the end of May 2020), members can register their owned car on the app and "temporarily" exchange it with another member's car. Additionally, for the number of days they accept temporary exchange requests from other members, they can also send temporary exchange requests to other members.
The launch event featured an introduction to the "CAROSET" service. Representatives from the four collaborating companies and organizations (Daiwa House Industry, Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance, Fujisawa SST Council, Mitsubishi Estate) were also invited to discuss future collaboration plans.
Based on the new concept CAROSET advocates—"Open Personal Asset" (OPA), meaning the shared use of personal assets without monetary exchange, based on equality and mutual support—the service will expand beyond cars to other personal assets in the future, collaborating with various companies and organizations.
