The 39th Tokyo Advertising Association Shirakawa Shinobu Award has been decided.

The Tokyo Advertising Association announced on January 14 that it has selected Takuya Goto, former Chairman of the Board of Directors at Kao Corporation and former Chairman of the Japan Marketing Association, as the recipient of the 39th "Tokyo Advertising Association Shirakawa Shinobu Award." The decision was made at the award selection committee meeting held on December 11 last year. The award ceremony will take place at the Imperial Hotel on February 20.

After joining Kao Soap (now Kao) in 1964, Mr. Goto served as President from 1997 to 2004 and Chairman of the Board from 2004 to 2008. He focused on marketing activities, driving the development and market introduction of numerous hit products and long-selling items. From 2007 to 2019, as Chairman of the Japan Marketing Association, he worked to share the latest marketing trends in response to changing times while actively promoting human resource development and academic research. He made significant contributions to the development of the advertising and marketing field over many years.

This award was established in 1982 to honor the outstanding achievements in the advertising industry of the late Shinobu Shirakawa, the first Chairman of the Japan Advertising Association (now the Tokyo Advertising Association), founded in 1947. It is presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement and improvement of advertising.
