"Tokyo 2020 Sponsored Jumbo Lottery" CM Reimagines a famous scene from "TOKYO!" 7 years ago (making-of footage available)
Ahead of the February 3rd launch of the "Tokyo 2020 Sponsored Jumbo Lottery" and "Tokyo 2020 Sponsored Jumbo Mini," new TV commercials (Lottery Edition: 15- and 30-second versions) began airing on January 28th.
While the "Valentine's Jumbo" lottery is typically sold around this time each year, this year—the year of the Olympic and Paralympic Games—it has been renamed the "Games Sponsorship" lottery, with a portion of the proceeds going toward the preparation and operation costs of the Games.
Furthermore, as these lotteries are also official licensed products of Tokyo 2020, the TV commercials and advertisements feature themes related to the Tokyo Games.
The Jumbo lottery offers a first prize of 300 million yen, including the prizes for the numbers immediately before and after the winning number, while the Mini offers 30 million yen.

The commercial dramatizes the moment at the 2013 IOC Session in Buenos Aires when then-President Jacques Rogge announced the host city for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games: "TOKYO!"
The setting is the venue where the name of the first Jumbo Lottery of 2020 is announced. In the front row, the Jumbo Lottery image character Shofukutei Tsurube and actor Takeru Sato await. When the presenter pulls a card from an envelope, the words "Tokyo 2020 Sponsored Jumbo" appear. At that instant, a huge cheer erupts from the audience. Talent SHELLY and former badminton player Reiko Shiota embrace. Beside them, swimming legend Kosuke Kitajima roars, "300 million yen feels great!" As Tsurube shouts his catchphrase, "There's no choice but to buy it, right?!", the venue's energy reaches its peak.
In the 30-second commercial, Tsurube worried, "What about the Mini...?" but the presenter's card read "The Mini too!" The venue erupted again, and Kitajima fired off lines inspired by his famous quote: "30 million yen feels great too!"
In post-filming interviews, Kitajima commented on the co-sponsored Jumbo lottery: "It gives athletes motivation to push harder, and the support from so many people is truly empowering." Shiota added, "Being able to support the Games through the lottery is a fantastic thing."
Tsurube-san expressed his hope for the Games: "I want everyone to enjoy the competition safely and peacefully, not just focus on the medals." SHELLY-san added, "I hope the whole country stays fired up from the Olympic opening ceremony all the way through the Paralympic closing ceremony."
When asked what he would do if he won 300 million yen, Kitajima replied, "I'd give some of the prize money to the athletes. About one-tenth." Tsurube immediately retorted, "That's too little!" drawing laughter.
