ASICS Holds "Tokyo 2020 Official Sportswear PR Event"
On February 21, the day of the "Tokyo 2020 Games Japan National Team Official Sportswear Presentation," ASICS, the manufacturer of the apparel, held an "Official Sportswear PR Event" at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya in Chuo Ward.
Starting that same day, the company began selling 29 replica models of the official sportswear and 33 items from the "TEAM RED COLLECTION," the official support merchandise for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games Japanese National Team, as JOC/JPC officially licensed products. These are available sequentially at ASICS's directly operated stores and online store.

Tsuchiya expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "I get passionate energy from the red of TEAM RED. As an ambassador, I want to do my utmost to energize everyone." Nakayama, competing in her fifth Olympics, declared her resolve: "So many people have pushed me forward. Your support is indispensable for athletes. I want to give it my all."
Yamamoto, slipping into the uniform, said with sparkling eyes, "It's comfortable, lightweight, and easy to move in. Putting it on really makes you feel focused."
Legendary athlete Yoshida shared, "The more people cheered for me, the more I could perform at my best. I hope many people will cheer for the athletes at the Tokyo Games."
Mr. Negi, reflecting on his journey with wheelchair basketball, called for support for athletes: "The cheers from my teammates around me gave me the strength to aim for the Paralympics and push myself. That support was everything."

The five guests wearing TEAM RED T-shirts declared in unison: "No two of these T-shirts are the same. Just as no two people are the same. This T-shirt is the color of the sunrise. It's to encourage and inspire the athletes. The TOKYO 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games are finally beginning. Each individual RED will gather and empower the athletes. Each individual RED will be etched with a shared global memory. Now, let's ignite Japan with passion. WE ARE TEAM RED." They read aloud the "TEAM RED Declaration."

At the venue, a lottery event was held where attendees could win Tokyo 2020 Olympic event tickets and T-shirts signed by Tsuchiya and Yoshida. Using the rallying cry "Ganbare Pon" (short for "Ganbare Nippon" - Go Japan!), many participants spun the giant lottery wheel. An official licensed merchandise sales corner was also set up, bustling with visitors.
