"Yucho Pay" MV Featuring Yuichi Nakamura and Hayashi Tagawa
Japan Post Bank released the music video for its Yucho Pay original song "#Fingers Turning Time," titled "It's Always the Beginning" (approx. 4 min 40 sec), on its official website and YouTube channel on March 23.
The video features rising young actors Yuichi Nakamura and Hayashi Tagawa.
Nakamura plays the protagonist, while Tagawa portrays him during his high school years. The video depicts the bond and growth between a son raised in a single-parent household and his mother, with Yucho Pay serving as the link connecting them.
It also features Hikari-cho, a high school girl with over 1 million social media followers.
The original song was created by suis, vocalist of the popular youth band Yorushika, and Yoko Shimomura, composer of music for many acclaimed video games. Shimomura also newly produced the Yucho Pay payment sound, transforming it into an impressive melody featuring piano.
The high school protagonist loves drawing and dreams of attending an art university. Learning this, his mother struggles with financial constraints but works tirelessly to support him.
Now a working adult, the protagonist thrives in the city. During breaks, he sketches his mother's portrait and visits home. When they go shopping together for the first time in ages, he smoothly pays using Yucho Pay. Seeing her son like this fills his mother with joy, and she later makes her own Yucho Pay debut.
This emotional video portrays how a clumsy high schooler, supported by his mother's love, grows into a dependable young man, symbolized by the smooth payments made with Yuucho Pay. The film includes details fans won't want to miss, such as staging inspired by Yorushika's logo and lines referencing heroes Nakamura has played in the past.
In post-shoot interviews, Nakamura shared a memory: "I had childhood asthma and was hospitalized often. My mother stayed by my side constantly—I'll never forget that." Tagawa commented, "At my elementary school graduation, I wrote a letter meant to make my parents cry. I read aloud, 'Let's keep eating from the same pot together,' and my mom burst out laughing." Both promoted trying Yuucho Pay, hoping the video would inspire others to do so.
