SEGA 60th Anniversary Video Series "Segashiro" Features Maito Fujioka

The SEGA Group, which develops entertainment content, will celebrate its 60th anniversary in June 2020, counting from the year its predecessor, Nippon Entertainment Products, was established. To commemorate this, the company launched a project featuring various special content starting in April and running for one year, opening a special website ( https://60th.sega.com/segashiro/ ) on March 25. The anniversary's key message is "GO SEGA".

As part of this project, the first episode of a video series depicting the mysterious character "Segashiro," who loves SEGA dearly, titled "Appearance," was released on the site.
Sega Shiro is portrayed by Maito Fujioka, the eldest son of actor Hiroshi Fujioka, who famously played the legendary character "Segata Sanshiro" in the past. This marks Maito's effective acting debut.

The setting is a school cafeteria. As female students discuss "what will be the next big thing after tapioca," Segashiro suddenly appears wearing a martial arts uniform and confidently declares, "It's SEGA." A halo-like light shines behind him, reminiscent of a hero's entrance. In subsequent scenes—where students discuss "What's next after rugby?" or "What comes after 5G?" or "What's next after Reiwa?"—Sega Shiro appears again, each time declaring "Sega!" When a student watching asks "Then what comes after Sega?", he freezes momentarily before asserting "Sega!" and sings his theme song to make his point.
Through the new character "Segashiro (Sega, Let's Learn)", the video expresses the company's commitment to preserving its "Creativity is Life" DNA and continuing to move forward. The video series consists of three episodes, with Episode 2 scheduled for release in mid-April and Episode 3 in mid-May.

When asked about his memories of Sega in an interview, Shinji cited the commercials featuring his father as "Segata Sanshiro," expressing surprise that he would become the next character to portray the role.
