Japan Association for the Promotion of the Event Industry New Year's Reception Held.
The Japan Association for the Promotion of the Event Industry (JACE) New Year's Reception was held at the Tokyo Daiichi Hotel in Minato Ward on January 24. This reception, held for the first time in three years, aimed to foster goodwill among member companies and related government ministries and organizations, while also wishing for the prosperity of the event industry in the new year. Approximately 200 people attended, including about 150 JACE member company representatives and around 50 guests.
Sand artist Ayasuna performed a sand art show themed around the New Year, and the event commenced to thunderous applause.

Chairman Nao Ishii, speaking as the host, noted that last year marked a revival for the event industry under the banner of "living with COVID-19." He highlighted several new initiatives launched by JACE that will shape the industry's future, including the transition of the Event Business Management Specialist exam to an online format and the establishment of the Sustainability Committee and Networking Subcommittee. "With the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo just two years away and a packed schedule of other major events driving momentum, 2023 will undoubtedly be a leap forward worthy of the Year of the Rabbit for the event industry," he stated.

He also highlighted reforms to the 9th Event Awards, which now offer more opportunities for recognition not only to large-scale events but also to innovative, smaller-scale events organized by NPOs and students. Following this, the Networking Committee, launched last year, presented initiatives aimed at creating benefits for member companies and shaping the future of the event industry, including young professionals networking events and business matching.
This New Year's reception was held with full consideration for COVID-19 countermeasures. Sustainability was also prioritized, with efforts like reducing meal portions during the reception to minimize food waste, and redirecting those savings into souvenirs for attendees.
