Even when our perspectives are rigid, people from diverse backgrounds see the world differently than we do. So, by drawing on their strengths, couldn't we make the world a better place?

From an interview with Naoki Tanaka, Creative Director at Dentsu Lab Tokyo. At last year's Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, he presented the world's first live performance using a musical instrument operable solely by eye movements, developed with the cooperation of an artist living with ALS. Tanaka defines the essence of creativity as "discovering new perspectives we haven't yet noticed." A diverse society possesses a wealth of diverse perspectives. These diverse perspectives become the wellspring of creativity and the key to solving social issues. Diversity is also a sign of a strong society.
