2023 Creator of the Year Awards Ceremony

The Japan Advertising Association (JAAA) held its regular general meeting in Tokyo on May 31, where the award ceremony for its "2023 Creator of the Year Award" took place. The Creator of the Year Award, now in its 35th year, recognizes the individual who produced the most outstanding creative work in advertising communication for that year.

Judging was based on three criteria: "ideas that solve problems and enhance the value of advertising agencies," "quality that elevates the level of creativity," and "expandability of the creative domain." One Creator of the Year and eleven Medalists were selected.

Takuma Takasaki of dentsu Japan/DENTSU CORPORATE ONE INC., who received the Creator of the Year Award, has now won this honor for the third time. From the Dentsu Group, Noritaka Obuse, Shumpei Murata, and Sayaka Arimoto were selected as Medalists.

Upon receiving the award, Takasaki commented, "I believe the 'way of life within the advertising world' of the people who influenced me in various ways became part of my very being, shaping who I am today. I will strive to make advertising even more essential to society."

The screenplay for the film "PERFECT DAYS," which Takasaki worked on, was unanimously praised by the judges as "embodying the very expansion of the advertising industry itself."
