The Japan Association for the Promotion of the Event Industry (JACE)※ held its General Meeting, Event Awards Ceremony, and Reception at Toranomon Hills Forum in Minato Ward, Tokyo, on June 14. Approximately 220 people attended, including about 150 members from JACE member companies, plus approximately 70 Event Award winners, selection committee members, and guests.
Marking its 10th anniversary milestone, the Event Awards ceremony announced the Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners in each category from the nine finalists, the Event Professional Award (voted by certified Event Management Specialists), and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award (Japan Event Grand Prize). The Grand Prize was awarded to "Kashiwanoha Innovation Festival ―TALKING CITY―" by the Kashiwanoha Town Development Promotion Department of Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. The winner received a trophy made of LEGO bricks, created by Junpei Mitsui, Japan's first LEGO Certified Professional Builder, along with prize money.
At the reception that followed, Chairman Nao Ishii, speaking as the organizer, stated at the outset, "While it is extremely gratifying that the event industry has fully recovered after COVID-19, new challenges such as labor shortages have emerged. JACE will redouble its efforts to address these issues."
Following remarks by guest speaker Mr. Yamakage, Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, new selection committee members for this year's Event Awards—including Ms. Chizuru Higashi and Ms. Yorifumi Hirahara—alongside other committee members, shared their thoughts on the awards. After a toast led by Selection Committee Chairman Toshio Nakamura, award winners and attendees mingled in a convivial atmosphere, bringing the successful event to a close.
