[Participants Wanted] Space and Editing (Dentsu Inc.) × Future Creation Laboratory (Nomura Kogei) Open Research Program "BA?" First Session Held November 25

Dentsu Inc.'s spatial design team " Place and Editing " and Nomura Kogei's Future Creation Institute will hold the first session of their open research program "BA?" in Roppongi, Tokyo, on November 25.

"Space and Editing" is a specialized team that designs brands with a focus on real "spaces" and "experiences," using a story-driven approach and a sustainable perspective. The "spaces" they design span diverse service domains, including stores, commercial facilities, events, parks, libraries, hotels, vehicles, offices, and distilleries.

At BA?, members with diverse expertise engage in dialogue based on their work and experiences to explore the concept of "space." The theme for the first session is "Planning, Business, and Space Creation." The second session is scheduled for January 2025.

Keita Aono
Nomura Kogei Co., Ltd. Creative Division Future Creation Laboratory & no.10 Department Head

After joining Nomura Kogei in 1999, he has focused on spaces for specialty stores, hotels, cafes, restaurants, and commercial facilities, while also contributing to projects like the Olympic Torch and the Japan Pavilion at the World Expo. His work spans large-scale spaces to small product design. In 2014, he began collaborating with Oki Sato of nendo on individual projects. After launching "onndo" in 2016 and serving as its representative, he established the Nomura Kogei Creative Team "no.10" in 2020, serving as its representative while also serving as a member of the Future Creation Laboratory. While constantly asking himself "What is the essence of things?", he approaches spatial creation with the motto of "cherishing everything from the beginning to the end of things."


Planner, Future Creation Laboratory, Creative Division, Nomura Kogei Co., Ltd.

Joined Nomura Kogei Co., Ltd. in 2016. After gaining experience in corporate communication facilities, new business planning, and rebranding, she now focuses on hospitality spaces such as inns, hotels, and members-only salons. She serves as a planning/branding resource for creative outsourcing, specializing in bridging management language and creative language through cross-functional planning. Her expertise lies in participating from the inception of creative strategies integrated into business management. As a member of the Future Creation Laboratory, she conducts fixed-point inspections of specific business sectors like wellness, analyzing them through a unique lens tied to urbanity. By discerning the distinct essential needs of each city and exploring how these are manifested as businesses, she develops practical guidelines for planning and branding.


Dentsu Inc. Sustainability Consulting Office, Space and Editorial Business Producer

Since joining Dentsu Inc., he handled numerous program content planning, event planning, and production projects as a broadcaster account manager. Later, in the Sales Division, he managed numerous national brands for beverage manufacturers. His work spanned not only communication but also business design areas like new product development and value chain reform. Participated in launching Dentsu Inc. Business Design Square in 2018. Specializes in projects centered on human relationships, including open innovation-driven product development and new business development between client companies, workstyle and office reforms accompanied by internal transformation projects, and new graduate recruitment projects. Joined current position in 2023. Currently exploring a sustainable world centered on people within the sustainability domain.
 

Chief Architect/Creative Director, Space and Editing, Sustainability Consulting Office, Dentsu Inc.

Graduated from Keio University in 2007. During university, belonged to Shigeru Ban's seminar. Handled projects spanning space, branding, and product development from initial planning through design and public relations to launch. Past projects include planning/spatial design for the Paris Rosanjin Exhibition, planning and editing the Japanese confectionery anthology "IKKOAN" (Japan/France/UK), directing Michi-no-Eki Toyohashi, and rebranding Tsukiji Outer Market. Values hands-on research and development to shape spaces. Selected for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan Brand Promotion Project in 2016, delivering lectures in Europe.
