The "TOKYO Gundam Project 2014" Executive Committee (Tokyo Port Authority, Tokyo Landscape and Greening Industry Association, Tokyo Rinkai Holdings, etc.) held "TOKYO Gundam Project 2014 Gundam Projection Mapping 'Industrial Revolution' –to the future" on March 20 at the Diversity Tokyo Plaza Festival Plaza and Symbol Promenade Park in Koto Ward. This marked the first attempt to perform 3D projection mapping onto the 18-meter life-size Gundam statue installed at the plaza.

Yuji Hirano, President of Tokyo Port Terminal and Chairman of the Executive Committee, stated: "This project aims to revitalize the statue and the Rinkai Subcenter area, while also supporting the 'Shining Youth: South Kanto Sports Festival 2014' to be held this summer. We hope many people will enjoy this spectacular show and help energize the area."
The spectacular entertainment show, featuring light, sound, and projection mapping, unfolded with the motif of an organic "evolution" of energy flow—from the past of the Industrial Revolution to a future coexisting with nature. The statue's new appearance electrified the venue. The spatial production was handled by NAKED Inc., led by Ryotaro Matsumura, who previously created the "TOKYO HIKARI VISION" at Tokyo Station in 2012 and the visual production for Tatsuro Yamashita's "Christmas Eve."
