McDonald's "Regular Audition" Winner! "Teriyaki Chicken Filet"

McDonald's Japan has been running a campaign called "You Choose the Next Regular Menu Audition," where customers vote to decide which burger becomes the next regular menu item at stores nationwide.
On May 29, voting closed for the three contestants—"Egg Double Mac," "Teriyaki Chicken Filet," and "McRib"—and the results showed the "Teriyaki Chicken Filet" received the most user support.

The three contestants were selected based on the criteria of having been sold multiple times in the past without ever becoming a regular menu item, and not having been sold nationwide within the last two years. They were sold for a limited time starting May 9th. They competed for the regular menu spot based on points from user votes and sales performance.
The winning "Teriyaki Chicken Filet" is a satisfying burger featuring a chicken patty coated in original teriyaki sauce. It will now become part of McDonald's regular menu.

On May 8th, an announcement event for the audition was held. Under the leadership of comedian Yamazato Ryota of the comedy duo Nankai Candies, who served as Commissioner, the "supporting comedians" for each product—the two members of Trendy Angel and Yokozawa Natsuko—along with special judge Yamazato's partner, Yamazaki Shizuyo (Shizuchan), also attended, adding excitement to the campaign launch.

To commemorate the campaign, the company is distributing a "Support Appreciation Sale Coupon" for three value sets via its official app and Twitter starting May 31.
