The "Tokyo Crazy Kawaii" event, which promotes Japan's "kawaii" culture, will be held in Taipei this September. This marks its second overseas location following last year's Paris, France event, and its first in Asia. This was reported by NNA, which distributes Asian economic information.
The event will be held from September 12th to 14th at the "Contest Pavilion" in Taipei's Taipei Flower Expo Park. Taiwan was chosen as the host location due to its pro-Japanese sentiment and high potential as an Asian hub. While targeting men and women in their 20s and 30s, the Paris event also drew many families, reaching a total attendance of 20,000 over three days. In Taiwan, attendance is projected to significantly exceed Paris, reaching 60,000 visitors.
The event is organized by the Tokyo Crazy Kawaii Executive Committee, led by AATJ, which handles event operations. The venue will be divided into six areas: "Shibuya," "Harajuku," "Akihabara," "Tsukiji," "Asakusa," and "Japan." These areas will feature recreations of iconic buildings, introductions to local specialties, and live stages. The Japan area will include exhibits from companies as well as local governments. The event will also feature charity initiatives expressing gratitude for Taiwan's support following the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Tokyo Crazy Kawaii is considering future events in locations like New York City, USA, where there is high interest in Japanese culture and customs and the event could have a significant impact on surrounding areas.
