At the ceremony, Kei Imai, Chairman of the Advertising Dentsu Award Deliberation Committee, delivered the opening address: "We hope advertising communication activities will play a significant role in achieving sustainable and healthy revitalization of society. This year's winning works reflect society's healthy vitality, and many were highly clear and of exceptional quality. The Advertising Dentsu Award will continue to pursue further innovation."

Next, Mr. Yoshio Tanaka, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, offered congratulations: "To promote Cool Japan, proactive promotion in overseas markets is essential. We strongly expect advertising to play a role as a promotional tool that conveys Japan's appeal."

Akira Ohira, Chairman of the Council (also Chairman of the All Japan Advertising Federation), reported on the selection process and results. "The Dentsu Inc. Grand Prix Award winner for Ajinomoto brilliantly crystallized its longstanding affection for Japanese food culture into advertising expression. This year, we saw a remarkable variety of energetic works, ranging from emotionally resonant pieces focused on Japan to unique creations reflecting contemporary social trends. We hope advertisers will continue to explore groundbreaking creativity and innovative advertising expressions in pursuit of new possibilities."

Following the presentation of each award, Masatoshi Ito, President of Ajinomoto, which received the Dentsu Inc. Grand Prize for Integrated Advertising, addressed the audience on behalf of the winning companies. "The series of works recognized this time were created following the registration of 'washoku' (Japanese cuisine) as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage last year. We wish to continue contributing to the development of advertising activities in our country, with your continued support," he said.

Finally, Dentsu Inc. President Nao Ishii concluded, "While signs of economic recovery are emerging, challenges remain, including reconstruction. As someone involved in the advertising business, I strongly hope that advertising's power to depict future hope can contribute, even in a small way, to Japan's leap forward."
