Dentsu Inc. had already secured the worldwide marketing rights and broadcasting rights (including internet rights, excluding rights in the EBU region) for events hosted by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF)*1 from 2010 to 2019. Dentsu Inc. has now agreed with the IAAF to continue securing these same rights for the period from 2020 to 2029. This means that Dentsu Inc. has secured the marketing and broadcasting rights for IAAF-hosted events for 29 consecutive years, starting from 2001.
The rights to IAAF-organized events consist of the marketing and broadcasting rights for the World Athletics Series (WAS), which includes the World Championships in Athletics.
Moving forward, Dentsu Inc. and the IAAF will work together to develop and enhance new marketing programs, aiming to further promote athletics worldwide.
