ANA Teleport, jointly provided by Dentsu Inc. and ANA, has been renewed.
~Japan's First Service Allowing Movie Viewing with Miles~
~Service launched for viewing on smartphones and home TVs~
~Proposing a new way to spend time onboard~
Dentsu Inc. and All Nippon Airways (ANA) have revamped "ANA Teleport" (*1), their entertainment service offering video content to ANA Mileage Club members since November 2013. Starting September 22, they introduce a new distribution system allowing video content viewing starting from just 1 mile.
ANA Teleport, themed around "Journeys of the Heart," has offered carefully selected ANA movies, original in-flight programs, and travel/documentary shows. It has now been revamped to allow viewing using "miles" (minimum 1 mile required), which previously could not be used for purchasing video content. It also adds support for Google's Chromecast (*2), enabling viewing on home TVs.
Furthermore, video content can now be downloaded to smartphones, enabling service use anywhere. Additionally, following revisions to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's notification effective September 1st, restrictions on electronic device use have been relaxed. Electronic devices in a state that does not emit radio waves (including those set to airplane mode) can now be used at all times, including during takeoff and landing. Consequently, video content downloaded from the "ANA Teleport" app on the ground can now also be viewed onboard.
■Renewal Date: September 22
■Number of Content Items Provided (ANA-curated movies, ANA original in-flight programs, travel and documentary programs, etc.)
