We're doing it again this year! The Festival of Cars and Motorcycles "Tokyo Motor Fest 2014"

The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) will host the "Tokyo Motor Fest 2014" (Organizer: JAMA, Co-organizer: Tokyo Waterfront Subcenter Urban Development Council, Supported by: Tokyo Metropolitan Government) from October 11th to 13th around the Ship Science Museum Station in Tokyo's Waterfront Subcenter area. This comes as the Tokyo Motor Show (TMS) is not being held this year. With the slogan "Welcome to the Wonderland of Cars and Motorcycles," the event aims to attract 90,000 visitors during its run.

This large-scale event invites people to "ride, touch, and see" cars and motorcycles to experience their appeal. Alongside JAMA's 13 member companies, two overseas manufacturers—Mercedes-Benz Japan and BMW—will also exhibit.

Building on the legacy of the "Odaiba Gakuen Festival" held in 2012, last year saw the "Odaiba Motor Fest with The 43rd TOKYO MOTOR SHOW 2013" held concurrently with the TMS.

On September 18, a press conference for the festival was held at Bellesalle Onarimon Ekimae in Minato Ward, Tokyo. JAMA Chairman Fumihiko Ike (Chairman of Honda Motor Co., Ltd.) stated, "This is an event where manufacturers, who are usually rivals, cooperate across boundaries. We have prepared many experiential programs, including test drives and passenger rides." Hideo Tanaka, Chairman of the Fan Expansion Measures Study Group (Toyota Marketing Japan), explained the event's outline. He revealed that it features a wide range of exciting, heart-pounding experiential content designed to appeal to diverse audiences. This includes "Cirque de Mobi," where visitors can experience professional techniques and dynamic driving; test drives of large vehicles like buses and trucks that are not typically driven; a corner to experience the latest safety support technologies; and a corner where parents and children can experience motorcycle test rides together.
