The three took the stage dressed in formal attire, holding custom trophies featuring the award logo engraved on Baccarat decanters. They celebrated the awards by toasting with "Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2013," selected as the "World's Best Whisky" in the globally renowned whisky guidebook, Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2015.
Mr. Ijūin remarked, "It feels like it took a while (to win), but I'm happy," sparking cheers from the audience. He added, "There have been many times in my life when I think it would have been tough without whisky. It's my 'goddess'." Mr. Igawa stated, "Drinking whisky is a precious time to relax. If I had to describe whisky in one word, it would be 'comfort.'" Mr. Kudo remarked, "We'll strive to become Japan's best team, inspired by this world-class whisky. For me, whisky represents 'the ultimate.'"
